Description
Oliver Whitehead (s. 1947) on monialainen taiteilija.
Oliver Whitehead (b. 1947) is a UK-born multidisciplinary artist who settled in Finland in 1971. Whitehead works in the mediums of painting, drawing, graphic art, photography, sculpture, moving image and poetry recital. His work is defined by its critical perspective on contemporary reality, while leaving room for viewers to draw their own conclusions about the state of the world. Recurring themes in his oeuvre include the critical examination of commodity fetishism, reflections on urban space, diary-like observations about everyday life, and the ever-topical theme of peace, which Whitehead explores through works such as chalk drawings in public spaces. This book presents the oeuvre and enduring thematic concerns of an artist whose long career spans over five decades.
